On September 12, 2023, four alleged narcomantas appeared at strategic points in Tijuana, Baja California, where intimidating messages and threats were read directed at Hassan Emilio Kabande Laija, the singer known as Peso Pluma.

The violent messages in which they call the performer of Ella Baila Sola “Long Tongue” were allegedly signed by the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG) and in them they warn the singer of corridos tumbados not to appear at the concert that is scheduled for next October 14 at the Caliente Stadium of the entity in the north of the country.

“This is for you, Peso Pluma. Refrain from presenting yourself on October 14 because it will be your last presentation due to disrespect and loose language. You show up and we’re going to fuck you up. Att. CJNG”, reads one of the banners that appeared between 1:00 and 2:00 a.m. at various points, such as the El Mirador bridge, on the expressway and in the Libertad neighbourhood, according to the authorities.

Six days after these messages were announced, supposedly attributed to the organization led by Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, “El Mencho”, the mayor of the entity, Montserrat Caballero, reported that the sale of tickets for the announced show of “La Doble P” – as the 24-year-old singer is also called – has gone downhill.

In addition, she assured that there is a 90 percent possibility that the concert that is part of the Double P Tour will not take place.

“So far the Prosecutor’s Office has the investigation in process, it is still open, and we do the same, which is to follow the information; at this moment the singer and in the coming days (it will be) official, to cancel the concert because the sales due to this did not advance any further,” said the mayor in an interview with journalist Azucena Uresti for Radio Formula.

In addition, the public official assured that the singer of Lady Gaga and El azul has already communicated the cancellation of said concert on his official website; However, so far the man born in Jalisco has not issued any statement.

It should be noted that the Peso Pluma page lists the dates of the tour in North American territory, but the concerts that the war singer has scheduled in Mexico do not appear.

Even on the FunTicket ticket office page, in charge of selling tickets for the show on October 14, the event continues to appear and it is possible to purchase individual tickets, which range from 490 to 1,990 Mexican pesos.

“On the singer’s part, on his official website he himself already announced the cancellation of the event, for our part, the procedures that had been done before these messages are still in place. However, we are going to confirm it in the coming days, but with complete certainty (I can say) that they have already canceled on the singer’s side,” Caballero said in the radio program.

According to the mayor, the authorities made the decision at the time not to cancel the event because “the Prosecutor’s Office did not determine that it was properly an organized crime campaign,” in such a way that they agreed that there was “no imminent risk.” neither for the citizens nor for the singer.”

Likewise, the member of the Morena party gave an update on the situation of Gilberto N, 43, who was arrested by the Municipal Police on Calle Ferrocarril and Calle 16 for allegedly manipulating the messages that appeared in the entity.
