Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila highlighted the strengthening of tourism in Baja California, noting its consolidation as an internationally competitive destination—a status in which the Port of Ensenada stands out as the leading cruise ship hub on the Mexican Pacific coast.

During the first four months of 2026, a 28.6 percent increase in cruise passengers was recorded, bringing the total number of visitors arriving at the port to half a million—a development that benefits local families, commerce, and the region’s economic development.

For the month of May, the arrival of 33 cruise ships from international lines—including Royal Caribbean International, Carnival Cruise Line, Disney Cruise Line, and Princess Cruises—has been scheduled, reflecting the confidence placed in the region by the shipping industry.

The Governor emphasized that these results serve as a testament to the coordinated efforts aimed at positioning Baja California as a competitive destination that offers unique experiences, drawing upon its rich cultural, gastronomic, and natural heritage.

Secretary of Tourism Miguel Ángel Badiola announced that two job fairs will be held in Ensenada during June and September; organized in coordination with international cruise lines, these events aim to expand employment opportunities for the residents of Baja California.
