As part of the efforts to guarantee access to water and basic services in Baja California, Governor Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda led the groundbreaking ceremony for the installation of a sanitary sewer system in the Ejido Primo Tapia, in Playas de Rosarito, addressing a long-standing community demand.
This initial phase marked the beginning of the installation of a sanitary sewer network that includes more than 5,000 meters of piping, the connection of 254 homes, and the construction of 112 manholes, as part of a key infrastructure project to improve the living conditions of families.
The governor presided over the official start of the project, as well as the unveiling of the pedestal symbolizing the cornerstone of the Wastewater Treatment Plant, which will benefit the community.
“No other administration has invested as many resources in water infrastructure as we have. What we have achieved in Baja California is a financial revolution, because we set to work on a structure that would allow us to address the main needs of the people of Baja California,” the governor stated.
This project, in its first phase, will allow homes to be connected to the sanitary drainage system, which will contribute to improving the living conditions of the area’s residents.
The first phase of construction of the Primo Tapia Wastewater Treatment Plant involves an investment of 13,644,758.69 pesos, benefiting 7,271 residents of the community.
Avila Olmeda emphasized that Primo Tapia is one of the fastest-growing areas in Playas de Rosarito in recent years, making this type of infrastructure essential to guaranteeing basic services and more orderly development.
The head of the Executive Branch emphasized that these actions are part of a historic strategy to guarantee access to water as a right, especially in communities that have been marginalized for years.
She also announced that construction of a desalination plant will soon begin in Playas de Rosarito, a strategic project that will ensure the water supply for Baja California in the coming years and strengthen the region’s water security.
