On the afternoon of Tuesday, April 7, an armed attack occurred on the Tijuana-Rosarito highway, behind the Magisterial neighborhood, leaving one dead and one injured.
According to preliminary information, the attack took place at 2:39 p.m. A witness informed authorities that between six and seven gunshots were heard near the canal in the vicinity of the Magisterial neighborhood and the San Fernando recycling center. The witness saw two men fleeing on foot; one of them, wearing a red shirt and black pants, escaped toward the bridge, disappearing into the brush and traffic.
Upon arrival, emergency services and police officers confirmed the attack. On the shoulder of the road, amidst the dirt and brush, lay the body of a man approximately 40 to 45 years old, face down. The victim—still unidentified—had gunshot wounds to his shoulder blade and right side.
A few meters away, on the dirt surface, six 9mm shell casings were found. Another man, identified as 32-year-old César Armando Flores Silva, was also found with injuries to his right femur and left tibia. He was transported to the Rosarito General Hospital.
