A 20-year-old taxi driver was shot and wounded Wednesday night in the 17 de Agosto neighborhood of Rosarito, after allegedly being attacked by armed men traveling in a sedan.
According to the police report, officers responded to the scene after receiving a call about a person shot shortly before 9:00 p.m.
Upon arrival, they found a white taxi, number 01535, on the sidewalk after crashing into a telephone pole.
Inside the vehicle, they found the 20-year-old driver, who had a gunshot wound to the chest.
According to his own testimony, moments earlier he had been intercepted by a gray or gold Nissan Altima, in which four men were traveling. One of them verbally threatened him before approaching and shooting him.
Red Cross paramedics transported the injured man to the General Hospital for medical treatment.
No arrests have been reported in connection with this incident.
