Without specifying the day, it is presumed that in February 2026 the elevated viaduct that will connect the Abelardo L. Rodríguez International Airport with Playas de Tijuana, a work of more than eleven kilometers, will be opened in its entirety.

This Friday, January 30, only the section from El Chaparral to Playas de Tijuana will be inaugurated, a seven-kilometer route that includes a bridge over International Avenue, another over the Matadero Canyon, four access ramps, and a tunnel in the El Soler subdivision.

The inauguration on Friday, January 30 will only be partial, since the works will continue during the month of February until full access is opened in both directions to connect the work and complete the eleven-kilometer route of the elevated viaduct, said Jesús Esteva Medina, head of the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT).

President Claudia Sheinbaum is scheduled to lead the partial inauguration of the viaduct at the access to the Matadero Canyon, at the exit of the section that begins in El Chaparral, which will benefit motorists entering Mexico from San Ysidro, California.
