How to report an official while you’re a tourist in Baja California?

457

The Baja California Tourism Secretariat has urged tourism service providers in the state to join the campaign to promote reporting, an initiative that seeks to foster a culture of reporting that safeguards the rights of locals and travelers.

Before contracting any service, users can consult the commercial mailbox set up by the Federal Consumer Protection Agency (PROFECO). Similarly, conciliation mechanisms have been established to facilitate dialogue between consumers and tourism service providers, with the aim of addressing and resolving potential grievances.

If you have experienced an unfavorable situation with an authority or tourism service provider, either during your trip or stay in Baja California, both residents and visitors can file a tourist complaint by email.

When following up on the case, it is important that the report includes:

Name of the official or agency involved

Badge, ID card, or patrol car number

Location, date, and time of the incident

The following means of assistance are also available: 911 for emergencies, 089 for anonymous reports, 078 for roadside assistance from Ángeles Verdes, and (664) 624 2020, extension 6411, for direct guidance from the Baja California Tourism Secretariat.

In addition, through the Baja California State Anonymous Reporting Center, you can report any act of corruption you witness, all anonymously. Whether a public official is asking you for money or acting improperly, you can safely report it by calling 089 or using the 089MóvilBC mobile app.

The line and app are available 24 hours a day and do not record any personal data. Your report will be confidentially forwarded to the appropriate authorities for investigation. The Attorney General’s Office’s online reporting portal is also available to visitors, available here.
