A pair of severed hands and a narco-message against a police commander, as well as the decapitated body of a woman in a shopping cart, were among the violent toll recorded this weekend in the municipality of Tijuana, Baja California.
In the first case, before 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, the discovery of remains and a poster was reported on García Boulevard and Bosques Templarios in the Natura neighborhood, Bosques Section.
According to local press reports, the remains were placed on a poster with the message “This will happen to you if you keep extorting ’03’ Barrera Reyes Adrián ATT. Los Chukys,” allegedly targeting the regional commander of the municipal police, Adrián Barrera Reyes.
Municipal police cordoned off the area and informed the Baja California State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) so that intentional homicide personnel could process the scene.
He emphasized that during the early hours of July 31, a similar discovery was made in the area: a decomposing leg inside a cooler, along with a yellow poster and another threat directed at the same police officer.
The second case, also reported on Saturday, was near the railroad tracks and Cuauhtémoc Norte Boulevard, in the lower Libertad neighborhood.
According to reports, passersby reported finding the body inside a black cart, wrapped in blankets and a plastic bag. Upon arriving at the scene, municipal police confirmed that there was a decapitated body, as well as a white sheet with a narcotic message: “Pure Sinaloa Cartel. The cleanup begins here. Attn. La Parka and Los Fantasmas.”
And approximately 100 meters away, the head of a woman was found inside a plastic box on the train tracks, according to local reports.
In both cases, no arrests have been made, nor have the identities of the victims been released.
