Sandstorm hits Mexicali, Baja California (VIDEO)

A sand and dust storm with winds between 50 and 80 kilometers per hour known as “black wind”, started blowing on Saturday, October 8 in the city of Mexicali, Baja California, more precisely in the area known as The Mexicali Valley, generating power outages, falling trees and the detachment of a wall of a private university.

According to the report of the State Coordination of Civil Protection in charge of Salvador Cervantes HernƔndez, the storm originated in the desert of the state of Sonora and is a natural phenomenon that since the time of the native indigenous people of Baja California, the Cucapah, it has been documented.
