Elon Musk’s high-speed internet, Starlink, plans to offer coverage in Mexico by the end of 2021 and you can already pre-register to be among the first to enjoy it.

Upon entering the satellite internet page, you will be asked to enter your email and country. When choosing Mexico City or the State of Mexico, the site displays a message announcing Starlink’s plans in the country:

Starlink is targeting coverage in your area by the end of 2021. Availability is limited. Orders will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

After verifying that your coverage area enters the Starlink plans for this year, the page will redirect you to the form where you will be asked for information such as name, payment method and a deposit of $ 99.

In the United States, the first country in which Starlink tests were carried out, the rental of the equipment costs $ 499 and includes the now-iconic antenna, plus a monthly fee of $ 99.

The Xataka Mexico team carried out tests in some remote areas of the country and the message displayed by the site was different.

Last month, a CNBC report unveiled plans to expand the internet service after making some public records as a subsidiary in Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Brazil, among others.

The service is currently testing under the name ‘Better than Nothing Beta’ in rural and remote areas where there is no easy access to fiber or cable.
