The report from the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar) details that on Sunday, October 4th, the Naval Search Rescue and Maritime Surveillance Station of Ensenada received a call where it was reported that a sport fishing boat with three crew members had been shipwrecked, after presenting propulsion problems.
He explained that the Regional Search and Rescue Plan was immediately activated and a Defender-type vessel was ordered to set sail, to provide timely attention in the emergency and safeguard the lives of the people on board the stranded boat.
“Once the naval personnel on board the Defender-type vessel, deployed to rescue the smaller vessel stranded at sea, managed to find and save the three crew members, they claimed to be 87, 54 and 38 years old, respectively, “said Semar.
The report specified that the three were transferred by sea to the dock of the Second Naval Region where health personnel waited for them to provide medical care, and their health status was reported as stable.
After receiving medical attention, the three rescued people were found in good health and got discharged. For its part, after the rescue, the boat was towed by a service provider to the port of Ensenada, “for presenting a danger to navigation.”
