Jesús Yadiel, 16, disappeared on May 25 in Tecate while selling cookies and donuts on the streets of the small border town.
Ten days after his disappearance, his identity was confirmed by forensic tests.
His body was found at kilometer 25 of the Tecate-Ensenada highway, near Valle de Las Palmas.
He showed signs of torture: his hands were tied, and he had stab wounds and bruises.
He was killed by 12 shots from an AK-47. Next to the body, forensic experts found shell casings and a pink pig figurine, a symbol identified in violent scenes in Culiacán, Sinaloa.
In 2026, Tecate has seen more than five minors murdered and nearly a dozen disappearances. No arrests have been made to date.
On June 3, a five-year-old boy was found dead in the Nueva Hindú neighborhood; those responsible attempted to burn the body.
