The snow will affect the Rumorosa, Sierra de Juárez and San Pedro Mártir
Civil Protection announced that snowfall is forecast in the upper areas of Baja California as of this Tuesday.
José Salvador Cervantes Hernández, State Coordinator of Civil Protection issued a pre-alert to the municipalities of the coastal area due to the probable presence of light-moderate rains for this Monday, which will continue throughout most of the week in the region, affecting mainly to the elevated areas of Tecate.
Cervantes Hernández specified: We already spoke with the Municipalities to be attentive, especially with Tecate; but we also warn the road controllers, both CAPUFE and FIARUM, and the National Guard, so we are prepared and invite citizens to keep an eye on the weather warnings that we will be issuing.
Weather conditions with snow will also occur in the mountainous areas of Sierra de Juárez and San Pedro Mártir.
Given the weather forecast, it is recommended to postpone non-essential trips on the Tijuana-Mexicali route and vice versa, derived from frost and to prevent a car accident.
They recommend that the population avoid going to snowy places for recreation purposes since the amount of snow could make it difficult to circulate even with all-terrain vehicles.
