Los Cabos police officers will soon be trained in multiple languages, including English, to better assist tourists arriving at the destination.
Ana Gabriela Navarro González, head of Tourism for Los Cabos, announced that staff from the General Public Directorate, Preventive Police, and Municipal Traffic of Los Cabos (DGPPTMM) will undergo language training. These courses are part of efforts to ensure the safety and security of visitors to the municipality. Officers are expected to study up to three languages with the support of universities providing this education.
Navarro González emphasized that private initiatives will also be involved, offering talks on how to interact with tourists. Officers will learn the proper way to start conversations, give accurate directions, guide tourists correctly, and make them feel at home, encouraging them to return or recommend the destination.
Additionally, Navarro González mentioned that the initiative aims to strengthen security and support for tourists, creating a safer and more welcoming environment for all visitors to Los Cabos.
In conclusion, Navarro González reported that she met with Sara Pilote, the Canadian consular agent in Los Cabos, to discuss issues related to the well-being of foreign residents and tourists.
