Relatives of the deceased patient Cecilia Morales Mejía, 40 years old, report medical negligence at Clinic 1 of the IMSS in Tijuana, Baja California.
The complaint filed by the family was before the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic, for alleged medical negligence against two doctors who work at Clinic 1 of the IMSS, located in the Third Stage of the River.
According to family members, the patient Cecilia Morales Mejía had undergone gallbladder surgery in June 2023, months after the medical intervention, the woman had a lot of discomfort such as nausea and dizziness, so she was hospitalized on December 16 of the same year. to operate, procedures where they detected gauze inside his body that had been left in the first surgery. She lost her life in the intensive care unit of the aforementioned clinic last Tuesday, January 23.
In response to the family’s complaint, the Delegate of the Mexican Social Security Institute indicated that they would adhere to what the Attorney General’s Office requires in the investigation of the case.
