The World’s 50 Best Restaurants revealed the list for 2023 and Valle de Guadalupe is in the top 5.
The World’s 50 Best Restaurants page published the list of the 50 best restaurants in Latin America and their respective awards, within which the municipality of Ensenada occupies two places.
Among the top 5, in fifth place is Fauna, located in Valle de Guadalupe, which emerged in 2017 and its kitchen is directed by chef David Castro Hussong and pastry chef Maribel Aldaco Silva.
Among its most recognized dishes is mackerel with grilled lettuce, and for sweet lovers there is honey semifreddo served with milk ice cream and salted caramel; The same one who received the award for Best Pastry Chef in Latin America 2023.
Fauna debuted in this ranking in 2022, receiving the highest ranking among all places, and this year it received the award for The Best Restaurant in Mexico, in short, it has received the One To Watch award in 2020.
Going through the ranking, in number 19 is Villa Torél, also in Ensenada. Villa Torél opened in 2019 as the restaurant of the Santo Tomás vineyard, one of the oldest in the Baja California region and in all of Mexico, located in San Antonio de las Minas.
Led by chef Alfredo Villanueva, it is “creator of memorable flavors and master of rice and fire,” according to The World’s 50 Best Restaurants portal.
