Volaris, the low-cost airline that operates in Mexico, the United States, Central, and South America, received its 100th aircraft at the Guadalajara International Airport.
The Airbus A320neo, registration XA-VSH, will serve the Bajío-Tijuana and Cancun Tijuana routes, increasing frequencies by 22 and 33 percent, respectively. With the arrival of the 100 aircraft, Volaris now has more than 9,500 seats flying daily on its 186 routes.
“This fact is historic, especially since it happens one year after the greatest crisis in aviation, which grounded 90 percent of the fleet. Today, our objective of long-term investment in the country and its economic development is strengthened with the vision of continuing to lead domestic and international connectivity, ”said Enrique Beltranena, executive president and CEO of Volaris.
From January to November alone, the number one airline in Mexico carried 21.7 million passengers, placing its recovery levels above those of 2019, at around 24 percent.
Recently Volaris also announced the purchase order for 39 Airbus A321 NEO aircraft and negotiated 20 conversions from its current order to this same model to keep it’s fleet young, through the replacement of equipment with better technology. This will allow you to ensure long-term sustainable growth, by improving efficiency and fuel savings, as well as reducing polluting emissions.

Volaris has one of the youngest fleets on the continent, with an average age of 5.3 years. 44 percent belong to the NEO family: 6 A319, 77 A320 (37 NEO), and 17 A321 (7 NEO), and in 2023 more than 50 percent of the aircraft will be of this model.
