TheĀ first Digital Tourism Tianguis in historyĀ ended successfully today with sales, according to preliminary calculations, for a total ofĀ one hundred million dollars, informed the Secretary of Tourism of Mexico,Ā Miguel Torruco MarquĆ©s, who closed this business meeting with a conference press to report the results obtained.
He specified that the final figures corresponding to the economic spill will be released as soon as the results of the exit survey provided to all participants are available, which at the time of closing had only been accounted for at 60%.
“But in the first data we can observeĀ transactions of more than 500 thousand dollars per exhibitor, which gives us a first estimated value of one hundred million dollars, subject to confirming the final figures,” said Torruco MarquĆ©s.
In addition, during the eventĀ the number of business appointments increased to 27,539;Ā and theĀ āCircle of Buyersā, an area designed for the networking of buyers, visitors, and exhibitors, was also a success withĀ more than 2,063 visitors.
The Secretary of Tourism explained that the states, destinations, and companies most visited by attendees and participants were:Ā Guerrero,Ā Puebla,Ā YucatĆ”n, the city ofĀ MĆ©rida,Ā City Express,Ā Interjet,Ā Posadas,Ā Maya-Fonatur TrainĀ Ā VidantaĀ andĀ Xcaret.
In total,Ā 730 files were uploaded to the platform,Ā andĀ 21,488 documents, videos and access to Internet leagues were downloaded;Ā whileĀ press coverageĀ amounted toĀ 120 accredited media.
Torruco MarquĆ©s recalled that this new tourist space began with very significant figures:Ā 1,964 buyersĀ from 1,185 companiesĀ from 45 countries;Ā 217 exhibitorsĀ andĀ 20,838 appointments registered.
At the end of the event, the above represented anĀ audienceĀ ofĀ 4,820 peopleĀ at the inauguration, keynote conferences and seminars, and theĀ generation of more than 88,695 commercial interactionsĀ among the participants.
Accompanied byĀ Rodrigo Hurtado, director of the Tianguis Digital Tourism Mexico 2020, the head of the Ministry of Tourism of Mexico affirmed thatĀ promotion is one of the essential elements in the tourism marketing chain.
Due to the above, he added,Ā the adverse circumstancesĀ that today affect the tourism sector, as well as all areas of the world economy,Ā have not been a limitation for the products and destinations of the country to be in the minds of potential visitors.
One of the answers is thisĀ Digital Tourism Tianguis (TTD), a new and efficientĀ national and international promotionĀ strategyĀ that is here to stay, responding to theĀ new reality of socially responsible tourism.
“I reiterate that this Digital Tourism TianguisĀ will leave its mark on the tourism industry, not only because it is the first of its kind, but also because it willĀ remain in the taste and interest of buyers and exhibitorsĀ throughout the years,” said Torruco MarquĆ©s.
